i use to be quite obsessed with wedding blogs.  oh the ideas for table settings and bridesmaid dresses and letterpress invitations.  and then i got a little burnt out.  there’s so much content and when it’s long before you plan on getting hitched, it can be a bit daunting and also sad.

but every now and then i still come across something that makes me all starry eyed and dream-like and getting that little wheel in my head turning.  some of the bhldn dresses lately are just jaw dropping, such as this crepe de chine column gown.  i could just see audrey wearing this frock on her special day.  lately i’ve liked the idea of a themed gatsby 1920′s wedding, so i thought the dresses below would be highly appropriate as well.

oh the ideas….

timeless

these are photos from lauren bush’s wedding in vogue.  what i adore about this is that the style and photographs have an essence of timelessness to them.  doesn’t that top photograph look like something that could have been taken 100 years ago?  so lovely…

i admit it. i cried during the ceremony. but how could one not? it’s a real life fairytale! the prince is marrying the princess and bells are ringing and the township is cheering and everyone is wearing their sunday best and large fashioned hats. it’s so romantic!

i thought kate’s gown from sarah burton (and the house of mcqueen) was so lovely and classic. most were comparing it to grace kelly. the long veil was so exquisite and fragile looking. i believe if i do wear a veil at my wedding, i’ll have kate middleton to thank.

when kate was walking down the aisle, william was facing the priest, yet harry took a sneak peak and turned around. harry then leaned into william and whispered “wait til you see her.”

the day after the ceremony, they couldn’t look happier! kate looks so posh in her blue dress and it’s so adorable how they’re holding hands.

i’m not going to lie, i totally watched the william and kate lifetime movie. (which isn’t bad for a slow-paced afternoon.)

i wish a lifetime of happiness for the two! now…….. when can harry get married?

photos ici, ici, et ici.

where to start with all of this blogging?  let’s start here…

love stories are always a good place, right?  rock n roll bride never ceases to amaze me with how much brilliant wedding ideas and concepts are out there.

this folk-ish, south africian cape town, organic wedding really warmed my heart.  kirsten and david seem like the cutest couple ever.  you can just tell from their wedding invitation video.  picnics through the woods, banjo melodies, cheese plates…

everything from the bridesmaids flower headdresses, to the brides classic brown oxfords, the grooms vest, and the earthy belts are magical.  most everything was vintage or handmade for this wedding.

i adore the lakeside setting, the grassy green pastures, guests wearing suspenders and ascots.  i dream of love and events like this.

if this were my own wedding, i wouldn’t change a thing.

more amazing photos can be found at we love pictures (though all of their south african weddings makes me want to get married there and hire them!!! seriously. i couldn’t post all of the amazing photos, far too many!)

this makes my sunny saturday even more sunny!  more blogs to come!

themed engagement shoots are so adorable. especially this notebook inspired one…

shot by blushing bride studio, the pair cindy and jean-nicola said, “We chose the movie The Notebook as inspiration for our engagement photo shoot for a few reasons. For one, Jean-Nicola’s late grandparents had Alzheimer’s disease and this movie touched close to home. Also, the chemistry of the young lovers in the movie was intense! And the era is very alluring to us- the fashion and way of life. We hope that our love endures all that life will throw at us, much like Noah and Allie. Oh, and we always fall asleep hand in hand (reference to the end of the movie)…”

too cute for words. other film themed engagement shoots that i loved were from the films “up” and “500 days of summer.”
