bonton

700_black-shelving-white-roomone of my most favourite boutiques in paris is “technically” a children’s boutique.  bon ton is from the genius creators behind merci and bonpoint (i sense future blogs here… ) and it’s essentially an anthropologie for “kids” (or adults who are still young at heart, like me.)

parismåndag+018650Bonton+1every corner you turn there’s stars and polka dots, tutu’s and glittered crowns, floral prints and ribbons, ballerina figurines and chandeliers… oh, and did i mention they have a cake bar with jars and jars of bonbons?  *swoon*

paris vs new york

14facadeswhen i lived in new york city i remember being exposed to the blog paris vs new york and finding it a great concept.  now that i’ve spent some time living in both cities i find it all very amusing.  the idea is to take a single subject (ie: food, weather, celebrities) and compare them side by side with the appropriate humor.  the blog has been so successful, it now has a postcard collection and coffee table book (which i’ve been itching to add to my collection!)  some favourites follow…Paris-vs-New-York

à la mode :: sessùn

page2-sessun960x600after a stroll around bastille, i wondered upon an anthropologie-esque looking window which, of course, stopped me dead in my tracks.  what followed was the magical land of sessùn. floral prints, shimmer, polka dots, and rich colours.  everything a girl could want.page8-sessun960x600

page6-sessun960x600the store was filled with deep corals and emerald greens, knotted necklaces and colour blocked collars.  with several locations throughout france and only one in paris, it is certainly worth a pop-in if you find yourself in the neighborhood.

i found the lookbook images very pretty and dreamy, which is paris after all, isn’t it?

28360fbd0c4d4691c79d13aa45e8a285after a little boutique browsing this wintery weekend, i stumbled across these georgeous headbands from a french company called adéli paris.  i couldn’t stop thinking about their mixture of fun and elegant colours with flirty and romantic styles.

paulette-magazine-n6i’m starting a new series of posts on the blog called “paris love letter” where it is simply just that, a somewhat-letter of love to something very “paris.”

i wanted to start off with paulette magazine.  i saw this magazine in a really cool boutique and after some research, completely fell in love with it.  the publication is relatively new with only 8 issues (1 every 2/3 months) but everything is so hip and cool and chic and french!

paulette-magazine-screen

it’s true, my french isn’t great enough to fully comprehend all of the wordage, but just the creativity and images are worth it alone (in the newest issue they had photoshoots and articles inspired by polly pocket, my little pony, and crayons!)

montage-paulettepaulette-magazine-participatifto my knowledge it is not available in the states.  but if you live in a big city with some stores that have a nice international selection, you might get lucky.  the website has a lot of great content too however such as gift ideas, photoshoots, music suggestions, and more (plus if you click the little radio in the corner you will be able to listen to some awesome indie french tunes.)

paulette-magazineif you feel as if there’s an inner-frenchie within your soul, then definitely check this magazine out!  you will love it!

i want to be a mermaid…

Screen Shot 2013-02-13 at 6.42.05 PMi’m not sure about you, but i sure am ready for swimsuit time!!!  not much has been going on at the blog here because life has been a bit calm as of lately (which is a good thing because the rest was desperately needed!) but now i’m ready for some fun in the sun!

lately i’ve been obsessing over synchronized swimmers, particularly the l.a based aqualillies.

these woman are ballet dancers in the water and it’s not only inspiring, but very lovely to watch!!!

d297b2f476086eab1d649e9d0e4f1079920e70969022ae931a6ab3a0b82dbfd4*sigh* i think aiming to be a mermaid is a perfectly acceptable goal.

i wish you a grand valentines day tomorrow (hoping to have a grand one myself!!)
