They tell you in yoga to rest your mind and think of nothing. Well, this has always proved to be quite difficult for me so instead I’ve always focused on one place and that seems to send my heart and soul into bliss and relaxation.
For me, that place is Versailles. After my first visit to the Chateau four years ago, I can’t shake away the details, the atmosphere, the sounds- every inch of surface. I knew it would be one of my first, and many many stops, upon moving to Paris.

While Autumn begins to set in, last weekend embraced full summer potential with sunny skies and hot tempatures. I knew it’d be the perfect time before I visit again once the leaves change.
I went at my own pace, walking from the Chateau, to the gardens, to the Petit Trianon, Theater, Farm, Grand Trianon, and Canal. If Versailles published a book of every wallpaper, tassel, and upholstered chair, it would certainly be a best seller in my opinion and proudly displayed on my coffee table.

I have to admit, it was a bit more fun going with friends or someone you love, just to exclaim, “I can’t believe people lived here!!!!!!” and to have someone look as dumb as you, attempting to row a boat in the canal.
Anywho, on my list of things to accomplish this year is to visit Versailles in every season. Hopefully I’ll discover new things each time and can be able to share them with you.
For now, out of 181 photos, these seemed to catch my eye and I wanted to share. If you ever intend on visiting Versailles, you certainly need to make the entire day of it (from open to close) and be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes.

Well, new adventures await! I hope life is lovely your way!
