i’ve been meaning to blog these for awhile.  these photos come from one of my favourite blogs, hello, it’s valentine.  i adore how her and her fellow french bloggers get together for fashion events, music releases, and afternoon tea.  it’s always filled with sparkles, red lipstick, and different shades of pink.

can i pretty please be invited to one of this parties????

anywho, these three songs have been playing in my brain non-stop for the past week!!!! enjoy for yourself!

i’ve moved a lot.  especially within the past four years.  i always have some kind of help with the packing though (usually from my mom.)  but this time i’m on my own, going through every single item i own and placing it in a “new york” pile or “tennessee” pile.

packing is a really strange feeling.  almost like the always nervous/sick feeling.  and it feels like it should be a really depressing time, yet i don’t feel depressed.

i do, however, have a soundtrack for packing, and it all seems to be along the lines of this…

the bird and the bee’s “hall and oates” cover album.  i’m especially diggin “i can’t go for that”

the latest album from stars “the five ghosts and the seance” (maybe my top album of 2010 so far??  it’s brilliant)

angus and julia stones “down the way.”  pretty much the best folk i’ve heard since the weepies “say i am you.”  it’s half love letter/half hate letter, and somehow it works.  it’s insanely creative and lovely.

gah.  less blogging, more packing….

*sad face*

fixed

so so so so so so so excited about this!!!!  one of my favourite bands ever, stars, are so low-key, they never reveal information about what they’re up too.  i logged onto steregum today and found this amazing information that a new album is due in june and it had a pretty amazing/awesome/glamourous glittering single attached.

read, listen, and enjoy here!!!

not to mention that they are playing in nyc the day after my birthday!!!!

i find stars to be exquisite.  the night sky in tennessee has been rather lovely lately.  unfortunately i planned to take a trip to our planetarium only to find its closed in december.  i guess it’s too cold.  but don’t you love them.  don’t you love being outside, and you can see your breath turn into frosted air, and you look up and there they are, shinning away, awaiting your wish.

i also love fireworks…

maybe it’s just tiny particles of light that fascinates me.  light is so beautiful.

in my small town of tennessee, we have a massive plant that really brings no good to anyone.  it pollutes our environments and the local lifespan is probably shorter on average. however, at night, it’s billions of little lights and it looks like a tiny metropolis (which makes me happy)

i’m reading a book called “the goddess guide” by gisele scanlon, because i love little informational books. well, she did an excerpt on philip treacy who is a hat designer and i love his extravagant designs!

lastly, if you are bored and need something to do, i had the chance to see the princess and the frog yesterday (i will watch traditionally animated disney films until i’m 100+ years old) and it was really lovely and made me so very happy!  i would kiss a thousand frogs until i found my prince charming!

yes, well i hope your monday will be really special.  ♥
